Sydney had a brief cyclone swell last week. Two days of overhead waves! First good swell in ages! Attached photo is of Deadmans and was taken after a very enjoyable 3 hour session!
sf69, that is nice!! So you got some serious shacks eh?
This morning at Haleiwa. It wasn’t flawless but still overhead, rippable and really fun…
Sure did! The only down side was that every man and his dog who owned a jet ski decided to “practise” their tow techniques making for some very noisy and in some instances very dangerous seasons!
There was absolutely no need to tow in especially around paddle in surfers!
Had some nice waves though!
From yesterday at Jockos… Solid 12’+ faces… Roping! Wish I was there!
Big swell has just started to show in Sydney. The predictions are for tomorrow and Sunday to be 10 to 12’ Whoo Hoo, can’t wait! Just need to avoid the tow in crews. The normal crowded small wave madness will be gone for a few days. Stay tuned for some photos if I get time!
First time for everything - people will be flocking to this awesome break…
I’ve surfed worse waves, and I’d probably be foaming at the mouth if I had them here.
Keep them photos coming, I love it.
Yep, that looks like a lake!
Here’s a lake shot from the states, taken on the the third of April
mmmm freshwater…
Holy smokes. My nipples are hard just looking at that photo!!
No pics from today, but wanted to share, and this seems like the right thread:
Today, got off work at three, kind of stressed. Got home, nieghbors and roomies in the back yard chilling waiting for me to go surf. Totally planning on taking out my 7 footer, but we grabbed all the longboards from the shed and walked down to cowells instead. First really nice sunny day in what feels like a month. Water only kinda brown. Surfed with good friends on little waves untill the sun dropped behind westcliff. Beautifull smiles from happy people on the water all afternoon, plenty of people giving up waves and hooting others on to em. hung out for dinner together and watched the local kids walking home with their boards long after the sun went down. Waves are magic.

offshore , and nicer…
Wow Chip, that’s a beautiful wave!
Laniakea on Tuesday morning was soooo long and fun! Only a handful of us out for a couple hours then the masses arrived and I was out of there!

Believe it or not, by the time this photo was taken it wasn’t nearly as good as the previous 2 hours… The sets earlier were around 2-3 feet bigger than this…The day before was blown out so no one knew it could get this good over night… Once everyone figured it out us dawn patrolers were surfed out! Haha! This was my last wave of the day… It was probably only the 8th or 9th best one I had all morning… I feel very fortunate to of had that session!
I took this right before I drove home of the end section. It was getting that sea breeze starting to come on… Within 2 hours it was crowded and sloppy… I couldn’t stop giggling at our good fortune… WE SCORED!!! Ahwoooooooooo!!!
Carve:
I saw that second picture of you making the bottom turn on the KGMB-TV Guy Hagi’s surf report. Great shot. Your pics are appearing all over the place even on the BBC website.
This is great exposure for the Hawaiians!
