world travel board? lennox me lad where for art

Ambrose,

On the week-end I'll try to contact Steve. I may visit Balsa's neighbourhood next year though am not sure if this would be via Germany & Holland - a longish board would complicate things a bit.

I'm hoping this e-mail may attract the attention of someone travelling to the US.

Regards

Bob

the wftb is 7’2’’

…ambrose…

has it REALLY been under a lennox house for nearly two and a half years ???!!!!!!

YIIIIKES !!

....it may have sprouted psilocybins or mould [or both] , by now ?

I heard lennox got flooded  and cyclone bashed , earlier this year .

what a bummer Perth is over 3000 miles away from lennox , I would dearly LOVE to ride this board ...'proneman ' ...you still coming west one day ??

ambrose , what was the ORIGINAL post on this board , ie: how LONG  since it left hawaii ???

....is THIS one of the original threads on it ...if so , if it was previously 'launched' [on the road] , in 2004 [??!] ....it is EIGHT years old now !

Lastly [for now!] ...are there photos somewhere of it , please ??  and the fin[s] , too ?

  cheers mate !

This is the Travel Board with old Proneman and Steve Shearer…Had a nice lunch that day at Steve’s home in the Lennox area and a surf or two at Wategoes a day or two later. He is a busy man with youngins, along with surf forecasting on Swellnet…writing stuff on Surfline and who knows how much more…I e-mailed him when I was intending to go to Oz in March…but I never made it over there. I was gonna prowl the Lennox breaks in search of Steve and the WFTB. Any way…there has to be some guys down in Oz that know Steve and could liberate that board.

Ben…I do intend to get over again…but it won’t be until late in the year or early next…In the meantime, someone contact Steve and get her moving!!!

Roger(10 days in a row with no surf at Malibu)…

Roger that !

thanks for the photo !

.... [the board] ....she's a work [of ART !!]

'steve shearer ' , I hope you are still around ???

  cheers !

  ben

I sent Steve an e-mail. The message box for his mobile was full and he seemed not to be home. Are there any takers outside of Oz? Perhaps it could be staged to Japan, Indonesia or mainalnd US. Europe would be the long way around but a possibility.

Bob

I just spoke to Steve. He's moved but assures me the board & book is safe and sound. He hasn't been able to access Swaylocks of late. He's contactable by e-mail.

If anyone beween Oz and Hawaii is interested in the travel board  - let's see if we can get it to you.

Bob

thanks for the effort BG.

…ambrose…

Ambrose,

No worries. Just sorry we haven't been able to get it back home. If we periodically bump this thread it might catch someone's attention. Steve asked if anyone was going from New Zealand to the US. This might be a way to get it moving again,

Regards

Bob

" Steve asked if anyone was going from New Zealand to the US. This might be a way to get it moving again"

....new zealand to the U.S.  via lennox heads , did he mean , Bob ?

....that would be ...er... "a slight detour " , I think , eh ?! ...

or .....

does steve know someone who would take it to the land of the long cold wave , perhaps ?

[ from a purely selfish point of view , I would LOVE "Proneman" to bring it here , if / when you come to perth , Roger ? ]

  cheers mate !

Ben,

Lennox Head -> Brisbane -> NZ (I left this bit out as it didn't seem too difficult)

I'll ask P'Man what his thoughts are about this. If we got it to WA what are the chances of it then heading to the northern hemisphere?

so the kiwi swaylockians can surf it and get it on its way !

probably a much better plan than my selfish one , bob ,

  as

as you say ...

the chances of it going north from perth , relying on me ,. are about as good as the last two years worth of inertia have been [ie: not good!]  for this board ...point taken ...

  cheers !

Ben,

From my reading, Ambrose was giving a nod for the board to go west. Beerfan (he's south) expressed some interest as well. I'll contact him. Guess the deal is, if I get it to you then the next leg of the journey starts with you.

I'll be in touch after I look into the options to get it west.

Regards

Bob

it may not stay on the road that long , but proneman coming here [west oz] ,

then

  ?returning to ?

  ?hawaii [ambrose??]

  just thinking aloud [allowed?]

  ben

Its not about the board…its the Aloha that comes with it!!!

Just not clear on my short term plans…

Clint,

It is possible. I'll contact Beerfan and see what he thinks. It could go Brisbane -> Melbourne.  You & Ben would just need to organise the Melbourne -> Perth leg.

Thanks Bob, Im moving to Sydney soon and I'll try hooking up with some Swayfolk there.

will this board get to Melbourne?

Bob

if the board is still at lennox with SS - I travel to NZ occassionally And sometimes Perth if from the Gold Coast.

Boomy,

At this stage the takers are west not east to NZ, so lets see how it pans out whether we are looking direct to Perth or a sereis of legs via Melbourne. Eventually, we may need assistance bringing t back east if we can't move it from WA.

Thanks again,

Bob
